Installed alarm with remote start but have a problem 04 civic
Ok, i have an alarm with autostart installed in my 04 civic. Everything works great when the key is in the ignition but the point of an autostart is to start the car without the key. I ordered a bypass kit with the alarm/remote start that is suppost to memorize the key code and store it for later to start the car. Well for some reason it will not read/store my key code. The site i got this bypass kit from said it is suppost to work with o4 civics but sometimes will not read some keys and if not try the spare or the valet key. Tried them all and it will not read/save any of them. Just wondering if anyone knows of a bypass kit that does work? Or if anyone has a remote start that works on there 04 civic and what brand and model bypass kit that have....Thanks a bunch
Its COLD....need a bypass kit that will work ASAP
.I have remote start on my 02 civic 5-speed, I have no clue the name and brand of either of them...I have never had problems...Just go to your local performance shop and talk to them...they will help you.
.Ok,
My gf has an 04 with alarm and remote. What our installer did was take her extra valet key and hid it the car somewhere. That way, the car can still read the code on the chip. I don't if that is an option for you, but it could be something you could look into.
Only drawback, we have to go back to Honda and order another valet key.
Hope that helped.

they did the same with a car that i had before, as a matter of fact, this might be the best way cuz even when the memory kit works, it might not work if your battery ever gets drained out. |
