hard shifting, auto
My gf has a 99 ex auto. Just today after a whole day of not being drivin, the shifter was really hard to take out of (P)ark. Shifting also feels rougher than usual. I noticed on her last oil change she was leaking tranny fluid from her gasket, but leak is very very minimal. I checked the fluid today and it was at minimum. Is that enough to notice that much of a difference.? Does anyone know whats going on...I have not yet added fluid cause its already dark here and i have to run to the auto store, im waiting for tomorrow morning.
Thanks
.....tranny will most likely only leak when it is in use (driving)
.my girls protege does that too....fill up your tranny fluid ASAP
.i would add the fluid....if it keeps doing it then id get it checked out. others will probably help you better though
.I know filling the fluid or flushing the fluid is a first, just wondering if this is something common....im hoping its not one of those things that lead towards the worst.
.Update:
I filled the oil today and the shifter stilll feels rough/sticky. Is it possible that Dr. Pepper be the cause of this rough/sticky shifting? The car does drive differently. Before, when the car was shifting up or shifting down you could really feel the 'jerk' when the car was shifting gears. Now it seems to be smooth shifts. Also before when braking and comming to slow speed during braking you can really feel the car down shift to that lowest gear, helping the car slow down.. Now it does not do that.
Any thoughts?
.my thought on this subject....
ur trans fluid was low. now just hope u havent burnt up your clutch packs. it could have possibly been a shift solenoid or something, mine was, but mine came and went. now i just live with it. i dont care anymore bc the hondamatic is gone in about a month or so. lol
.at least she didnt rev in N and drop to drive on a RWD car and snap the drive shaft like my bro
.or atleast she didnt pull up next to someone at a stop light, rev it up to race sumone, and drop it into gear bc she thought she was quot;launchingquot; |
