What would it take to get 200HP out of a 1.8s?

Is it possible without a turbo?

.It may be possible....but your car definitely would no longer be a street car....hell Mikes turbo car is only putting down around 200whp with his turbo.

.With standalone, ITBs, and a built bottom end, yes.
Practically, no.

Practically, no.ITBs will do nothing for a car that can't rev for ****.

too much money/effort/time to be worth it.  so no... turbo is probably your only option.

How many specV's do you see running 200whp N/A?

It may be possible to squeeze the 200whp from the 1.8s but you would need to put ****load of $$ into it, a lots of custom work (custom cams, intake mainfold, high compression pistons, rods, lots of headwork,  etc, etc...).

If you want 200whp go get the new civic Si and throw on I/H/E and it will be easier on your pocket than building the QG.

Im glad to see that the fixation on 200hp isnt just with the QR owners!

.No way as far as bolt ons you could see 200 horses in a qg but you could see easily 150 160 with ease, the problem is the lack of aftermarket support for the 1.8, by the time u build up the 1.8s you could have bought a turbo kit, with the 1.8 liter when you put the header, cold air different stuff on be prepared to never get rid of your check engine light.  Take it from me I got UR pully, intake, header, and catback, whenever they decide to release the thermoblok kit ill have that, but you arent gonna see 200 horses on a fully built QG.

I highly doubt it, to be honest with you.
You can count on spending probably 3-4x the cost of turbo to get 100whp to 200whp without forced induction or nitrous.

Just because you have a SES light doesn't mean everyone will.

.fully bolted + head work + 75 shot .. would that put you near 200whp?

.possibly. Complementing head work with intake manifold extrude honing is a big thing. Prolly just have them both extrude honed and port matched, then port matched with the header. a good intake, like Hotshot,  2.25quot; or 2.5quot; exhaust, SAFC II, UR pulley.

.will a 1.8 hold a 75 shot for an extended period of time?

If a qr25 can then there's no doubt the qg18 can.

I highly doubt that you can get 150whp from a qg fully bolted, if you could get different cams than maybe.
