ok i need a new oil pan for my b16a.how do you change it?does the tranny have to be removed?ive never done this or anything so i need some help.im also assuming i should change the gasket.
also if anyone knows where i can get a cheap one really quick, please let me know....
.no, the tranny doesnt need to be removed. just drain the oil, put the oil plug back in, remove the bolts around the pan, and pull/pry it off. its pretty easy.
tho i dont know where you can get a gasket/seal quick and cheap... sorry.
.just go to home depot or sum'n similar for the gasket seal . .
and yeah, just make sure u got ALLL the bolts and it'll come off
.cool, autozone (shutup) said 16.99 for gasket, and 65 for refurbished w/$25 core or 90 for a new one but i have to wait like 2 weeks agh
.ok got it
about 18 bolts on the actual pan.2-3 you cant get to, so you have to remove a tranny brace from each side(2 bolts on one side, 3 on the other) then you can take off the plate over the tranny which reveals part of the flywheel(2 bolts), then you can take the pan off
haha i just wrote a how-to pretty much on my own question
.lol... good job. sorry i didnt give much detail, my experience with oil pans was on a H22.. and it was about two years ago. lol. photographic memory is a bit hazy that far back.
but on getting it off.
.dont forget the exhaust manifold.
