Hondata

i was wondering if anyone has had exsperience with hondata cause im a interested with buying one for my hatch. i was wondering if there were any power gains and if ran any different. so if u got any info just reply

.i have hondata for my civ and it does make a big difference.  with the power gains and stuff, you get it when you tune the car using hondata.  plus, you can do a search here to find out more about it from other threads.

.putting it on your stock hatch wont do jack didly shit
the only reason it helps dawg is because he is boosted and pretty well modified.

.well i got a jdm gsr in my hatch and i was wondering if hondata mad an ecu that would give me any gains all motor

.only if you are running a stupid high compression and were highly modified.

.Hondata WILL help cuz you get extras like you can set the rev limiter, drop the rpms when you shift and have a set RPM launch, plus it can be reconfigured for nitrous if you decide to drop that in. It's not just about fuel metering and vtec settings

.So it has to be configured by a shop huh? If its configured wrong im guessing that fuel management will be seriously messed up. I live in the middle of nowhere so im not sure of a shop that could tune it for me. Right now im pretty stock, only have a sri, but i figure all im gonna do is i/h/e, not sure what else to do besides suspension but i dunno. Was going to do a swap but i dont have any money to do that with, since im a high school student.

.im a highschool student but i just have 2 jobs and have been saviong for a while im about to be a senior next year

.Im more than willing to buy a hondata chip, but at the moment i first need to a) get my new civic si cluster here and installed b)get a detector(passport 8500) and c) get my stainless steel header and cat back(GReddy)

.can u tune it on ur com. using windows, like AEM EMS?

.hondata is not really cheap.. you will need a OBD1 ecu, a wiring harness, and then the hondata system. total would be atleast $500.  hondata can improve a stock car, i seen a gain of 5whp.

.HOLY SHIT 5WHP!!  increase of hp to cost ratio is one of the worst...  dont get it unless you plan to turbo or run something like a 15 compression and use nothing but 100 something octane....  atleast 500 for just a basemap.... then you add in the optins you want...PLUS tuning....plan to spend around 800 or so.
