4.7L Torque Dampers

I'm posting this for anyone who wishes to boost a GevIV or newer.  This is what I had to do to control my engine's torque.  

Driver side engine torque damper.

Passenger side

Solid tranny mount..If you have solid transmission mounts, then why do you have torque dampers?

.With only the solid tranny mounts in, the motor would still try to lean to the side.  With the torque dampers in, the engine does not move at all.  Its insurance to help take some load of the tranny mounts.  And I can say, it works great.

I do, there was a problem with the 4.7Ls and they require modification.  I know DJwolf trimmed his and got them to work.  I took mine to a machine shop and they couldn't make them work for my truck.  I was worried the engine moving around would cause more damage so I had the solid tranny mounts welded up.  

Like I told Hemidak, as good as the solid tranny mounts are, the engine still tries to lean to the side.  As added proection I added the dampers.

how could they not get them to work?  did you look at them?

mine took a little bit of work but not alotguess the main point is that you have it fixed....do these also prevent the engine from moving forward?

Yes Sir, the solid tranny mount keeps the engine from pushing forward and the dampers prevent any side movement.

I actually took my solid motor mounts to a machine shop and they couldn't make them fit.  Next weekend I'm driving down to DJwolf's and he is going to try and trim to fit.
