Hey guys,
Couple of really quick questions. I threw a code for an o2 sensor a while back. I dont remember the code but it was for an o2 sensor. I was pretty sure my rear one was dead so I replaced it. When i initally deleted the code it never came back. I did an I/M monitor on my OBDII scanner and it said the H02 is ready and the O2 is not ready. It still says that after changing the sensor.
So questions:
Which one is the Ho2 sensor and which one is the O2 sensor. I know the rear one is heated, but I thought the front one was refered to as a heated o2 sensor as well?
How many drive cycles does it take for the computer to check the o2 again? I have only driven to work, so about 20 minutes of driving but i did scan it when i got to work and it was Not Ready so Im assuming the ECU would have check it everytime the car gets up to temp.
Thanks in advance for the help guys.

quot;code never came backquot; = that's a good thing.
quot;I/M monitorquot;.. they're both heated O2 sensors, but I/M monitor may treat heat circuit amp; sensor circuit as different systems.. but it takes a certain # of driving cycles for I/M to say quot;OKquot;.. can't just drive for like 20 min.. sometimes like 40 or 80 quot;cyclesquot;.. also systems must be warmed up to be quot;Okquot;. the FSM describes the cycles exactly, def'n of warmed up, how many cycles it takes for each system to be quot;Okquot;, etc.
So just keep driving.. as long as you're not throwing any codes.. that is good!
After like a week, check I/M again after fully warmed up.
:edit: in FSM, under Engine.. look in quot;EC Engine Controlquot;.. quot;OBD Systemquot;.. quot;System Readiness Testsquot; = I/M |
