Well I know there are many post of type of question. My Engine is overheating, well sort of. Only reason I want to post is just to make sure my situation maybe different, because searching through the post I haven't seen anybody with my describition. I have 93 Honda Civic SI, recently overheating, first thing I swapped out thermostate. First the top radiatior hose was hot, had alot of pressure, bottom one was cold. Smoke in overflow tank, not good. So swapped it and now both are warm/hot. Still seems like it overheats. Or might have a air pocket. Will start to go over the middle mark and then drops after about 30 seconds. That's what makes me think air pocket. And I have some coolant in my overflow tank with some blank chunky stuff, no big but small. Coolant looks alittle milky too, not sure what that means. So I think I need a flush the system, which I didn't do while change the thermosate. DOop! Just Drained it and fill. One more problem which causes my overheating is my cooling fan doesn't turn on. HMmm! Why, I don't know. Fuse is good, Relay is good, Plugged in to thermosate housing, think it could just be a bad fan. If anyone else know any other reasons, please let me know. And what else I can do about my car overheating. And how to flush out, or bleed air pocket? And do you have a wire scimatic of the cool fan wires, make it simple I am a dummy about that stuff. Sorry for the story, but thanks for any help
.sounds like you may have gottin it to hot once and blew the head gasket... milky coolant usual is a sure sign of a blowin head gasket

.if your top radiator hose is warm , bottom is cold....you're not getting circulation, can be either radiator or/and your water pump. to check if its your radiator...take it out, stick a hose in it and spray, if water is coming through the other ends....your radiator is good, also check for leaks
.same thing happened to me a few months back....pistons right man, ya need a head gasket
.yeah your going to need to replace your head gasket on that z6. atleast you didnt blow your headgasket water jacket to cylinder because then you would have a hydrolocked motor like i did and you piston would look like this:

its about 3 hours of labor if your a n00b
.are there any other signs of blown head gasket, I mean I have no grease build up around gasket
.o ya and my pappy says my radiator smells gasey, not sure if that means anything, he says it means i need a new gasket, I think he might be a basket case

if you have oil in your coolant. your about 90% chance if not more, of it being a blown HG. you wont see buildup outside because its between an oil passage and the water jacket.
.now is there any kind of test i can have done to find out for sure it is the head gasket? last time i tried to swap heads on a motor I f'ked up and the car didn't start, of couse the was a LS and this is a single maybe a little more easier, but i just want to make sure it is the gasket, and just for an update i did pour the coolant out of the overflow and it was not milkly but a little dirty, but did have a hint of a gas smell
.do you have a factory manual? if so. get one. fix your blown headgasket and stop posting on cc.
PM me about a manual if you dont have one. i can send you one via AIM.
