Right, guys.. I know I have posted about a few other problems I have ben looking at but last night I checked my fluids and noticed that I had very low coolant and very low oil even thought these were both topped up the other day. I have included some pics (sorry about the size/quality) of the engine just below the vtec solenoid to see whether you guys think this may be a blown gasket. I don't have any smoke coming out of the car when its running..Sorry.. images:
.I see red X's instead of pictures......
Is your oil 'milky' or your antifeeze have oil in it?
.I see em now...... It looks like its leaking something. but I cant get my bearings of what exactly im looking at in the pic....
try my milky oil or oily antifeeze question.
.The anfreeze lookes fine. The oil seems to have less colour to it on the dip stick.
.Umm like a lighter brown? (not clear brown like after an oil change) but lighter... almost milky....?
EDIT: it wont be as noticeable if your car has been sitting for a long time as it will settle out (oil and water)
.ermm.. to be fair i checked it just after i topped it up with oil and not after a run.. I will go check now and let you know...
.Ok, went for a run and checked, oil looks clean. As does the antifreeze.... ????
Here is two more pics that show the area concerned:.It could just be your valve cover gasket...i dunno. still have good heat? temps running normal... If those check out, I have nothing more for ya..... Good luck!
.heat guage is always just below the horizontal mark.. is this ok? Only had the car a few weeks so can really tell if there is any difference...
.Oh, and the valve cover is fine.. no leakes around any of it...
.Note to moderators:
Why can't i edit??

I'll bet thats about right.
.Stumped!
Well, I think i am going to order a gasket kit. My local mechanic is allowing me to use his garage and tools so, I think I will take of the head, while I am there I might aswell replace drive belt, PCV, filters. Give the engine a good clean up.. least if there are leakes I will be able to see where they are comming from!
Thanks any ways |
