AEM Intake Install

I got my hands on an AEM intake pretty cheap for '99 LX so i decided against the make-your-own route. Im a little confused with the install process tho - i have seem guides to do intake installs before. But this one seems a little confusing to me since it cames with 2 pipes instead of 1 so im not exactly sure which pipe i attach to where amp; how i what angle i turn the pipes in order to attach them. I tried to line it up but I cant seem to line it up so it looks right - the pipe seems to long amp; im not sure if i will have to cut through the maifold to make a hole to house the rest of the intake - if you have any know how please pass it along. thanks.

.well the one with the aem sticker is the one that mounts on the throttle body, the end with the sharper turn goes to the throttle body.  the other pipe, well just put the first pipe on then put the other pipe on however you need to in order to get the pipe through the hole.  that kinda looks strange though, thats alot of pipe.  and did you only get 1 of the rounder rubber deals?  you'll need two, or you could just use the first pipe and use it as a short ram intake instead of the cold air if it doesn't fit right.

.oh yup, didn't notice he had an ex

.
i believe thats it!

.I'd sell this one and buy an intake for your application.  I have an AEM CAI complements of Steve, and I love it.

Oops my mistake... I corrected my profile.. i do have an LX.

lol, buying a lower performing intake mani to conform to your cai isn't a good idea.

edit: on the first pic, the bottom tube goes on the throttle body exactly the same way its positioned in the pic

All I see is the quot;Sorry... You are trying to access an image from outside of ImageStation.com.quot;  Try Photobucket or Uploadit maybe.

Here's the pic btw, so you don't have to open it in another window..

Thanks for the help - defvayne the diagram helped out! ... i joined the pipes together amp; twisted them amp; lined it up with my engine one pipe will shoot downward amp; one peice remains straight so it will squeeze in there - looks like a hell of alot of pipe tho. Thanks again!

.ehh if u have LX just take out the filter housing.. the trottle body is there.. but you installed already.. oh well.

I have not actually done the install yet ... ill toss it in later this week .. one more question .. how far one do i have to shove the filter? ... and also i got 3 clamps... im assuming one on either side of the connector tube ... one for the filter amp; ill use the one on the OEM filter to connect the intake to the manifold... please let me know just to be sure.

.dunno what you mean about the OEM filter.. you need to take all that out! from the squared box where it holds the filter to the other big black box under the end of the OEM intake.. once you done with that, the throttle body is facing upward and connect it there on.

.i meant the original clamp .. but what i really want to know is how far down the pipe do i need to shove the filter?? Do i shove it to the end of the round part or do i keep shoving till it wont fit no more?
