Mini me swap

Hey my brother wants me to get him some more power out of his 98 civic lx but he doesn't want to do an engine swap.  I told him to let me do a mini me swap so he said ok.  What would be the best vtec head to put on his sohc 16.L D16Y7.  Thanx

.put the z6 head on there

.Y8 all the way!

.because he has a y7 you would go with the y8. the z6 is better but I think your better off doing a y8.
it's harder than it sounds, if your going to do it right. here's your shoping list:

z6 or y8 head
p28
new timing belt
distributor
wiring harness
water pump
head gasket
intake and exhause gaskets (if your going to be taking the mani's off)
spark plugs
spark plug wires
oil
oil filter
coolant
wire to wire up vtec

I think that's it but there could be more I'm just not thinking about.
I hope to swap a z6 head in a few weeks here.

.yea its a bitch to do right, i just put the non vtec 16 valve dx head on my car since its a lil easier

not if you have a friend helping you who's done it b4

.i did a mini-me. it helps to have good wrenching skills. an impact gun for the tensioner bolt. and some good tunes on your cd player.

.well if you have a d16y7...you can keep the same motor and add high compression pistons and change out the manifold to a z6.  Get some internals for it...and you'll be running quick.  Just a suggestion...i've seen it happen with a 99 civic hb.  I think it was 13's or 14's in a 1/4 mile.

yup. my friend tried to do his and then found out real quick that he needed an impact gun.
So he's going to get one from a friend when  we do mine.

.Do you need to pull the engine to swap the heads?

.Oh, also, what's a quot;p28quot;?

.^^its the ecu and ive never done a mini me swap but i dont think you HAVE to remove the engine.

.are you planning forced induction in the future?
