I had a place here in town take mine apart- Then once it was poder coated they put it back otgether with a new seal. You have to replace the seal- Charged me 35.00 to do it.

.What kinda shop was it?

.the place is called J amp; I automotive in Marshfield MO. They rebuild auto parts like starters, alternators, and water pumps,

.You wouldn't know where I could get that seal at do you? Tired local Napa and Federated and they don't sell them
Thanks
Dave

.I don't- I guess you could call J and I to see if they would sell you one but really you need a special tool and driver top pull and replace them- Thats why I paid to have it done.

.Would you mind giving me the number please? I will call them and see if I could send it to them and have it done
Thanks
Dave

.Just paint it.  Is it really worth the cost of having it taken apart, powdercoated, and re-installed on a wear item part that you are going to have to replace??

.Lol I understand what your saying but please don't take this wrong, Who's money is it? Why settle for something you don't want when with just a few more dollars you can have what you really want! My 2000 has less than 30,000 miles on it and sits on jack stands most of the time so wearing out something is not a concern of my.Besides if it does wear out its 40 bucks to rebuild it or 50 bucks to replace it..And it's the color I want..Once again Please don't take it wrong But It's just money....
Thanks
Dave

.Totally understandable.  My truck is my daily driver, so there is a bit of a difference there.

.My fancy chrome water pump went out on me in less than 3000 miles. My truck only has 10k miles on it. Just because the truck sits alot, doesn't mean something can't happen. Sometimes that's worse for it.
