how does this paint look?

from : localhost/www.paintforcars.com/aep_sapphirebluemet.htmlanybody know much about this paint? it seems like a good price. its for a lifted 88 f250

.what do you use the truck for?

.$46 for a gallon unreduced? I'd stay far away from that junk. A single-stage metallic? You better be a damn awesome painter or that shit is gonna stripe like a bitch. I didn't even think they still made single-stage metallics.

.dont bother with that stuff.

imo, get a polyurethane. they can take more abuse and look great. judging from what ive seen from it, the paint is awesome. still looks wet after its fully cures. wont chip easy either

.but if the truck is just for a off road mudder, trail rig then it would be a great choice.thats why i asked what hes doing with the truck.

.If you want it to look good than get some premium shit. I got a quote for a gallon of IB and clear coat and I'm at over $400 before it even goes onto the truck.

.its an off road truck not a show truck, right now it is rattle can black, silver, and factory white.

.then it should be just fine for you then..that is bassically mettalic equipment paint..once it hardens it will be like rock.

.Scary..Its gonna be like buyin a big ass can of spray paint

thats about it...acryl enam is old tech...urethane for sure if you want quality but for a beater hell you cant beat the price
$2300 for base and clear on the Durango(top of the line Dupont)lots of it...good thing I paint for a living

.well i thought it was a good price for what the truck is, my dad has to go get a quote to repair the bubbling paint on his 05 dak, the bed has bubbles....sux for him.

.Come on now, the can even says quality paint at competetive prices. It has to be good  It should be fine for your application.

.Dude, if you just want shit paint for some coverage and to have all one color, use tractor paint. Its cheap as hell. It won't look like a champion, but it will hold up and be all one color, kind of.

.Well, she wants metallic blue, and this is the cheapest i could find.If i wanted tractor paint i could get it for free. Her grandpa has a paint room for all his farm equipment

I have the top of the line dupont black with extra clear coats and it chips easier than the factory paint did, I'm not too impressed with it.
