I recently asked my acura dealer about installing aftermarket springs cause im gonna lower my rsx pretty soon and i really would rather have them do it then to take it like to midas or some tuner shop and have people that dont know a whole lot about the car work on my car!! Anyways they said they will only do it if i were to buy the comptech springs from them cause comptech and acura have a contract with each other i guess. They charged my 380 for the springs and the camber kit. They guy said that the comptech srings will lower it 1.5 inches! Also he said that everything would be covered in the warrant i have with the car right now!! Heres the major blow..... he said that they chrage 700 for the labor!!!!! I almost laughed in his face!!! But im still debating on if i should go ahead and pay that amount cause i just bought my 05 and i dont wana risk my car with any other shops!! What do you guys think????
.$1,080.00 to install springs! That is f*cking crazy!
.what the fuck!!!! NO!!! no way it should cost that much total. tell him its a deal if he throws in a set of shocks that are your choice.
.Hell no! You may be able to find someone in your area who would do it for a 6-pack and some burgers! And even if you go the professional route, that should be no more than 4 hours of labor @ $75/hr = $300. At that rate, they're charging you for over 10 hours of work!!
.not the freakin difficult...for that price fly me out there and rent me a hotel with room svc and I will do the work for ya...even get aligned...and still be under that total amount
.i'm sure there's a chop shop around your area...they'll do it for you and they'll do it good. look for a low rider shop. shouldn't there be an import shop where you live too or do you just live in the boonies?
a grand??? damn i'll do it for a cam gear.
.Suspension is suspension. There's nothing weird about an RSX that makes the lowering job any harder than any other car. Just take it to the Tuner shop or do it yourself. Since it's an 05, you should be able to get the bolts free. Then just get it aligned. Charging 700 labor is like telling you to drop your pants and grab your ankles.
.One thing you should know is that dealers charge up the @$$ for thier products. Along with any labor involved. My opinion, just take it to a reputable shop around your area and save some $$$.
.Yeah that price sucks, but it will void your warranty if you get it put in somewhere else or do it yourself. Modifying a car outside of a dealership voids certain parts of your warranty contract. Having them do it for 1k might save you 2k+ in the long run, think about it... Especially since its an 05
.A dealer cannot void your entire warranty, unless they can prove that the modification in question caused a failure. For example, if your engine blows, they can't say it was because you modified your suspension.

*Note: certain parts of your warranty. Obviously they cannot say your suspension made your engine blow. Say his CV Joint snaps and causes the front end to fall to the ground fucking up the front end? Would they cover his front end getting raped from the ground because it was a suspension problem? I dont think so. That how-ever is just my input you dont have to listen to me, go with what you think. Judging by a 2005 RSX I dont think 1g is going to run you into the hole, and if so maybe you should have gotten a cheaper car? Just my but Good luck I hope everything works out for you.

I've been thinking about that over and over!! ITs like spend 1000 and i dont have to worry about anything going wrong and if it does i still dont have to pay anything!!! Or i can go with some cheaper springs , void my warranty and hope nothing goes bad!!! I've worked really hard for this car and i really cant afford to take a huge risk like this and i'm still thinking about what im gonna do but i guess i really dont have a choice if i wanna keep my warranty
.The car in your sig looks lowered! I say you leave it as is, it looks really good to me.
.I think the car in his sig is a chop. i believe he posted that as an idea of what his car might look like.
.Kill the bitch. I mean.... don't do it. It's a complete fucking rip off. Go to a shop... let them do it.. they'll do it right.... they do it for a living.. If they fuck it up... they will fix it... don't spend 1000 dollars for something that can and should be done for less than 500 |
