driving on spun bearing???

how harsh is it to drive in a spun bearing?  I know its not good and will cause more damage...but a motor swap is soon to come but im just waiting on funds.  ANybody ever had any experiences with it?  thanks

.Harsh enough to put a hole in the block big enough to stick you hand in....

.?...really?  how?

.Harsh enough to weld your crank to a main. Main bearings are there to allow a good cushoin of oil to float the crank above the mains. With its gone that cusion is much much weaker because you don't have a nice flat surface for the oil to flow on. Then when you have some good metal to metal contact between the crank and a main, the rotational speed and immense frictional heat can cause them to weld together and completely freeze your engine within a matter of seconds.

.Extensive wear of the bear bearing creates much play between the rod amp; crank, the rotational speed beats up on the rod amp; the connecting rod studs snaps  fly at the side of the block amp; WAM you got a nice size hole lol. Ive experced this on different cars lol

.sounds pretty painfull.

Nah, its just like falling out of a tree... from space.

.for fuck sake...if i find out which rod bearing needs replacing could i just do it half assed with just dropping the pan and doing it from under the car so it can atleast last me a couple weeks?

.just do all four cant be to much.

.anything i can do to temp fix this is a must right about now.

.well i know you gotta check clearances n shit....ahhh fuck..i need a friend who knows his shit and can help me do this lol.

.The only temporary fix is not starting the engine until you can fix it. If you drive it and the engine fails you will be looking at getting a new engine.

.yeah you will be sorry if you keep driving..

You need to machine crank. Means romove motor amp; romove crank amp; get it machined, Replace damaged rod, Get over sized bearings

.what about just changing them by dropping the pan and crawling my skinny ass under the car with some sockets and a torque wrench?  is that a possibility?  I dont know shit about rod bearings.  Im not even sure if its possible that they can be changed without dropping the crankshaft.  thats why im asking
