plz help me understand all the aspects of uprading your spark, such as dizzy, external ignition pack, wires, and all of the other things that are in the msd ignition setup. ive always heard about upgrading it and what not just dont understand all of the smaller parts and aspects taht have to go with it. thanks!
.Search around here and read the other posts about this. Honda ignition systems can handle something like 350 hp with no problem. The stock ignition system is the best system for your honda unless you are running SERIOUS boost.
.Anyhow.
Upgrading your ignition is help your engine burn the A/F mixture more complete. When increasing compression or adding boost its always best to upgrade your ignition. You will in turn gain HP amp; TQ and even fuel milage from something so small. THough it would be a huge kick iin the ass but there really isnt anything negative from it.
I have upgraded almost all my ignition except for a new control module. Its not really all that necassary to do if your car is stock. But you will benefit if you have most bolt ons or some type of C/R amp; Boost change.
.It's nice to have on a Honda if you have a show car. Most street driven Hondas will not benefit from it though.

if you car is next to bone stock you wont see any significant gains. But you may see better fuel economy though. But after some mods an dmainly some type of ECU mod/hack you will some type of performance gain from it.
Though a Dyno may have to be used to see the number gains. |
