Yeah I did just swap the motor.  Then an elderly woman pulled in front of me on the highway and I smashed into the back of her.  It doesnt look like much damage, but there's a lot behind the grill that is smashed.  Little better than $6300 in damage.  I never even got to change the oil with the new motor.

I thought about that, but what's to part out on the truck?  It'll probably be more of a pain in the ass.  The biggest thing is I'd love to have that v8 back, and put my v6 back in.  But I dont have time to devote to it anymore.

Yeah, the pictures don't do it justice.  There is a lot of small damage on everything.  Both headlights, both fenders, drivers side door got hit by the fender, hood, grill, bumper, valance, ac condenser, aux tranny cooler, rad, clutch fan, coolant overflow.  Plus the bed hit the cab.  Plus whatever damage could be on the cradle for the rad.

They were willing to fix it, at a little more than $6300, but it was so close to being written off, they said they were willing to, if we wanted.  Having it written off puts me further ahead financially, but I will have the cost of replacing it.  And at this point, it was nearing needing to be replaced anyways.

You bet i'll stick around...i may even be getting another dakota.  If not that a ram, either 1500 or 2500.  Either way, it will be a Dodge 4x4 truck.

.man  like said from the pic the damage looks minor.  sorry to  hear your dak  is gone.  this is why I think when your at retirement age your drving priveages should be retired also. sure there alot of young people that shouldnt be driving either.

with the   elderly they think they drive fine but reaction  times and snap  judgement is gone. heck  judment period is gone . I  watched I think 20/20  or dateline and they did a show on  elderly and driving. It was amazing how bad tehy was.  one old guy like 70  or maybe older went to  park  and hit the same vehicle 5 times and still when they asked him  if he thought he was a good driver.  He said yes I am.

.Glad their insurance came thru since you were forced to rearend the other car.  I am still working on getting my money when someone pulled my bumper off back in april.
