New H/U, no front speakers?

This is gonna be long... Last two radios stolen (might be cause). So I put in a new Sony (I know, I know) and I only got rears so I put it in a buddy's car who has a sony and its all good so I took out the ohm meter and tested for continuity.

Radio harness adapter to car harness adapter both + and - good
Harness to LF speaker wire + good
Harness to LF speaker wire - NO GOOD

Now I also have infinity speakers in the front and the splitter thing I tested by itself and this is where it gets even more weird

- to tweater - is good
- to speaker - is good
+ to tweater + is good
+ to speaker + NO GOOD  

I will do more testing tommorow but I have to tell you the thiefs cut my antenna wire in case this helps solve the problem but why would the rears still work and not the fronts? I haven't tested the passenger side yet but I bet thre results will be the same. How could both grounds go bad.

If that is the problem, could I just ground them to the chasis or does it need to be grounded at the radio? I know that would be pretty ghetto but it would save alot of time. If you can think of other areas I should be testing, I'm all ears at this point.

.Found the problem. Butthead thief cut throught the main harness splittinng the front speaker grounds and the illumination and partially throught others. Looks like I have a date with the soldering gun.
