hey guys i was thinking about putting a short shifter in, but i have also heard of people just sawing off part of the stock shifter and using a bolt on knob... so which when is better? pros and cons?

one is ghetto... one is not..
on a real short shifter the part between the ball and the shift linkage is a dif length.. thus making the throw shorter.. just cutting your stock shifter will not do that... they are cheap enough that you should honestly just get a new one.. AND if you cut yours its gonna be shitty to get a knob back on.. i think its too fat to thread.. so you would need to buy a knob that is not a thread on one (like most momo knobs)..
.^ ^ yup
.go with the short shifter. that way you wont look so ghetto when your friends ask you if you got a short shifter or not.
.I just installed my Skunk2 short shifter..with ES bushings...and WOW...i love it..feels rock solid..also feels like my bro's stock GSR shifter..which i always wanted my shifter to feel like..

dont saw it off, that so ghetto..........
.get the short shifter then cut it...lol nah just get the short shifter it makes a big difference in the shifting i didn't think it was going to do much but my boy bought one off ebay and it was nice so i bought a skunk2 daul bend and with a dc shift knob nice and short and the small knob is so great get the real short shifter
.FYI: DEFINATELY get the bushings also.. they make probably just as much if not more of a change than the shifter itself
.here is a good site with MANY dif shifters to choose from.. i have the Bamp;M and love it, but a lot of people go with the skunk2... both are highly recomended..

.One question for the one's that have the skunk2 dual bend...i feel my shifter more vibrating than with my stock one...is that normal? i have the Spoon Duracon shift knob on it right now...should i get the Skunk2 knob??

not sure.. but having the harder bushings will make it vibrate more.. if you have aftermarket bushings i would say that is the cause of the vibration.. and the knob should have no bearing on the vibration..

.You should definitly get a real short shirter...If you cut it it dosnt feel the same. Also highly recommend getting aftermarket bushings. It feels so sweet. I got a Bamp;M short shifter |
