Can't wait until its $1 for every letter/bill sent out. On-line banking/bill paying FTW!
.The credit union I have charges $5 a month for online bill paying. I'll use the company sites and stick with stamps for the ones that don't have it or charge a fee.
.email took a huge chunk outta post office profits....muahahahha

Yeah, right. When was the last time you wrote your grandmother a letter?
.My bank does not charge for bill pay. If you're paying for that, switch banks. I only use stamps to pay bills for one time payments only. That's it!

Actually, phones hit them harder.

Can't. It's the only credit union near my house. I won't ever use a bank. For profit banking is just wrong. Credit unions at least in theory are non-profit.
.that makes sense... let me pay MORE for a service so that we don't let other people make money?

why pay for a stamp when you can call with your one billion cell phone minutes.....??
it seems that the actual post office will be pretty much obsolete soon....
.No, I just don't use their bill pay service. I don't HAVE to use it. I still manage to pay most of the bills online anyway. The rest go in an envelope and for the soon to be 40 cents I'm done.
Aside from my hatred of banks, why am I going to drive across town to use a different bank because they have free online stuff?

At work you have a phone or shouldn't be talking to granny anyway. In the car, you'd better be driving not yakking. At home, you have a land line. Damn cell phones are a status symbol. Only reason I have one is I moved here two months before the wife and lived in a hotel. Now I have it in case I'm stuck on the side of the road.

Because you will only have to drive across town once and then you are able to pay all bills online. Get direct deposit at work and you will never see your bank again other than online.

i disagree, everyone has a cell phone, i dont think they have anything to do with status. i dont have a home phone, my cell phone is all i have. Some people pay way too much for them...im fine with the free phone with contract, in fact, i wish i could get b/w screen like the old ones were.
as far as postage. i use one stamp every month, b/c i cant make my damn Nissan payment online for free. all others i pay online.

Sorry to hear that no one loves you. I've had direct deposit since '89. But I still get checks from time to time. My insurance company sends me a dividend check, my dad sends me a check from time to time, etc. I have to go to the Bamp;M office once every two or three months at least.

Not everyone has one. And hardly anyone NEEDS one. A buddy of mine in SC refuses to get one. But then he just recently got a debit card for the first time too.
And what features do you have on your phone? Do you really need a camera? Do you have to have Britney Spears latest ring tone? Do you have to have a built in PDA?
What did people do 20 years ago without cellphones? I'll tell you what they did...they waited until they got back to the cave and banged two rocks together. Worked just fine. I'm not against technology but does the soccer mommy really need to be on the phone for the past 37 miles while driving a 6,000+lb SUV with the left blinker on? Is she really talking to the other doctors, walking them thru the brain transplant procedure? Or can she get her fat dumb ass off the phone and wait until she gets home? |
