6.5 Infinity reference front speakers help!!!

just finished installing it but came across a problem..
speakers are sticking out about half inch, with that i can not close the speaker panel. Does anyone have infinity reference speaker on the front? if so did u cut the plastic holding cup behind the speakers to put the speakers all the way in? if not how did u install it?
im thinking that if cut the cup behind the speakers then water could get to the speakers...
please help...

.Depth issues? I had the same problem so I took them back and got bostons.  It depends on whether you want to modify it or let it affect your speaker choice.

.modify your doors...    or you can take 'em back and get 5.25s.
