EG BRAKE LIGHTs...JDM or NOT? plz HELP~!

I am a semi noob to the JDM scene...so I don't know much about it, but recently I have seen a couple JDM looking cars on the road with the same features when it comes to the EG (5th GEN.) model civic.  I have noticed that when they are braking...their outter brake lenses light up...BUT, their inner brake lenses closest to the license plate don't light up at all.  I mean I know they all can't have burnt bulbs in the same spots lol, so thats out of the question.  I am thinking they either have it wired in a way that it does that, or simply just by  removing the inner brake bulb.  So incase your thinking...I am not talking about the Taillights or half clears or anything like that.  I am specifically talking about the way the bulb lights up no matter the style of taillights it is using.

I have also seen this sort of effect in magazine shoots, as well as on the EG model hatch in Gran Turismo 3.  So my main question is, is this a JDM FAD or RICE.....OR is this how the 5th GEN civics brake lights actually appear in Japan?  Below is a crappy diagram of what I am trying to talk about...It's not that good, but hopefully it will give u an idea of what i am trying to ask....Below is a depiction of the LEFT TAILLIGHT which is vice versa to the RIGHT TAILLIGHT_L_SIG._][_RVERSE_)

this part is the outter brake lense which is the only part that lights up when the brake is applied...the inner brake lense doesn't light up at all.  In the USDM version of course all four brake lenses light up...Again is this a JDM thing or what?  Someone who knows please beat the senses into me and let me know what the deal is.

.its a hatch thing. hatch inner tails dont get brighter with the brakes. you prolly paying more attention to the generation and not the body style and thinking quot;why do some 5th gens not light upquot; instead of thinking quot;why do hatch inners not lightquot;

.if you want to do this on your own car just cut the wire.

Green is the brake
Red is the low (comes on with headlights)
and Black is the ground

and Black is the groundThanks for the info...id rather just take out the bulb then cut the wire if i do that...unless cutting it still gets the light working but not as bright.  But before I even do that I just wanna get some answers first.  Cause I am not sure if I even want to.

I have cut my front ground wires before though...it made my turn signals blink faster, but my hazards worked normal so thats a cool DIY  thing too if ur into that.

.what it is is all 5g hatchs inner lights dont work as a brake light and on sedan and two doors the lights are the same and if one inner lights burnes out they both dont work

.the only differnec in usdm and jdm is that usdm have to have reflecters and the jdm ones dont

.u guys and ur JDM.just buy JDM shit for ur engine because thats what it comes down too at the end.no one going to ask u wat taillights u have.they all look the same!
