problems after header install....

so i recently installed a DC 4-1 ceramic header on my d16y8....and after i installed it i noticed that i have a huge amount of vibrating throughout the whole car, what the hell is that about??....also i have 2 leaks coming from where the header bolts up to the cat,,,am i soposed to installed a new gasket in there or re-use the old one??....

.I just installed my DC Sport 4-2-1 header a few days ago and I reused my old gasket but I plan on getting a new one cause it was very worn.

.i got 4-1 headers and dc sports is ment to use every stock part so its quot;cheaperquot; to replace mine i just reused the stock gasket but its best the replace things since your already changing your header

.plus the only place i found that would have that donut gasket for the header was only at the dealership

.check all bolts if its torque down.. and go to honda and buy a new donut gasket.  its about $10.. reusing the gasket sometimes will cause a leak..

.Most headers should come with everything needed on install including a new gasket. (shakes head)

.you will get a new exhaut manifold gasket but not new cat to header gasket.....new gaskets should usually always be used......DC is not the best but not the worst company for headers.....

most headers dont come with any gasket.  the only ones that comes with gaskets are those ebay special headers..

.Maybe its just special treatment when your buying it for a prelude.... (Thinks to himself)LOL

.Damn now I definitely have to change the gasket cause the cat is shaking alot when I stop.

Is it bolted properly? That doesnt sound good..

.Yeah, if everything is shaking, then you need to tighten everything, but I noticed a quot;leakquot; sound when I get up the rpms really fast after I installed my DC header.  I used the same gasket from the head, but bought a new one for the header/cat. converter connection.

.Sounds like you didnt tighten up the 2 bolts that bolt on near the oil pan. There is a bracket that holds this.

You may want to re-torque the bolts on the head to make sure there is no leak coming from there.

The donut gasket may need to be replaced, but I used the oringal donut and it stopped leaking after 2-3 weeks of normal use. It just stopped, I didnt do anything.
