Noobie help???

hey i'm new to the whole sentra (my main project is a 93 yota pickup) thing I just picked up a 2000 sentra se performance package with a manual tranny on Nov, 23 and was wondering if people could point me in the right direction for performance parts and dressup stuff. Currently I'm looking for a good cheap bolt on muffler since the factory exhaust looks to be fairly free flowing except for the muffler. I don't want a coffee can exhaust though, i'm looking for a dual tip muffler similar to the stock one but with throaty sound and better flow. Thanks

.welcome to the forum and congratulations on your SE w P/P. There are lots of SE owners here on the forum.  If you want to get a nice muffler get the Stromung, lots of guys have that muffler on their ride and they love it.
Here is a link to a members classified add on that muffler.

I would suggest upgrading the entire cat-back system to a larger diameter to get better flow.(www.vrsexhaust.com)  You are only going to notice more power gain if you take out the manifold and install a racing header.(www.hotshot.com or www.weaponr.com)  Do that modification first for the most power gain.

.there are a few axle-backs out there. for a good cheap axle-back, get the megan dual tip. should be about 140 bucks.

.Check out the Parts review page.  It has reviews from people who own the parts and show what parts are available.

.Hey and welcome, great choice on the SE because it's probably the most reliable b15 sentra out there!  In terms of performance, it all depends wether you want to go the NA route or go turbo, regardless the choices are there!

For the muffler, I'd suggest the magnaflow dual tip and get it welded on at a local shop for something like $20!  Here what my dual tip magnaflow looked like when I had it:
Sorry that's the best picture I could find.

Cheers

.Are your handles a different color?  Just curious (and just making sure my eyes aren't playing tricks on me).

Your car is clean as hell, though.    I wish mine looked as good as yours.

.How does the magnaflow sound? I've got a magnaflow cat and catback on my truck and it's very throaty and deep for a 4 banger so I'm hoping it would sound similar on the sentra. I really hate that loud annoying civic ricey sound so I want to avoid that. Also has anyone bought the black headlights or tailights off ebay?  If so how do you like em cause I think I want those cause I plan on blacking out the entire car.

.welcome to the anti-mod forum, here we try to discourage all modding and infact tell you to just get a different car, because we hate our cars and we dont want them to be quot;fastquot;  Anyway back on topic:

Since you want a dual tip i would definately suggest stromung (i've heard clips they sound great) if you dont mind what kind of tip, i would suggest looking at the HKS catback, it sounds great and the price isnt bad for  a catback

.My BRM has a Magnaflow resonator and muffler, I'd venture to say it's the deepest-toned system available. If I had a good clip I'd put it up, give me a day or two and I'll get one if you want.

.Sure why not, thanks.

.Ok one more thing the car has 16quot; stock alloys with brand spankin new tires but I want to put different rims on it such as black or gun metal with a chrome or polished lip but reuse the tires so what size of rim should I look for? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

A 16quot; one.  If I were you I would go to a 17quot; and just buy new tires.

.if i were you, id just go to www.vrsexhaust.com and buy the piping kit for something like 140 bucks, get a muffler for another 120, and have a high quality catback that just needs to be welded together.

.Well obviously 16quot; ones but how about the width. I don't really want to have to buy tires cause the tires are already sticky dunlops plus I don't want to put much money into this car since most of my car funds are being saved for my truck and this car is now my daily driver. As for the exhaust i'll just run down to the shop that did my trucks exhaust. I'm going to go with a 2 1/4quot; magnaflow catback and magnaflow cat which the shop did for my truck for about $320 with mandrel bends all welded. I'm debating to ditch/keep/replace the resonater. How's it sound without one? With a hi-flow resonater? Stock? Does the stock single disc cd player have outputs for an amp? It has the little factory 8quot; sub which an audio shop said is powered by a little clarion amp so is it possible to just connect another amp to that one? If so where is the stock amp?  I want to add 2 more 8quot; subs fiberglassed in the little indents towards the back of the trunk.
