shift tachometer for auto trans?
can you install one? youre input will be great.. thanks
.ive seen it done on a 99 dx coupe so i think you can i had mine done by a auto shop though so yea you can do it
.oh by the way mines stick w/ the shift lite and the 99 coupe guy was auto and dx so yeah you can
.how do you use it? with an auto? thanks
.im not to sure the guy i saw had a vtec controler or a new ecu or something so his redline was higher than stock. he was saying right before redline he would let off the gas and then stomp on it agean but i realy wouldent know ive driven stick all my life srry but you can put the tack in
.... I don't get it. You just want a tach just 'cuz right?
You can get an EX cluster that has a tach in it.
.U DON'T NEED IT SO DON'T GET IT!! This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard quot;shift tach w/an autoquot; FUCK-ME
.are you talking about a tach with a shift light? if so, that's hella ghey.
.I agree - no reason for a tach on an auto, except for maybe troubleshooting your transmission..? If you must have one, just install the appropriate gauge cluster...it's a matter of 6 bolts and 5 minutes.
.I like having a tach.. but if you want one, just get a new cluster.
.There is no need for a tach in an auto civic with the stock tranny. The only auto I have ever had a tach in had a fully built street/strip tranny that was built for manual shifting. I say spend your money elsewhere...and if you are manually shifting your stock tranny I advise you to cease before you kill it.
my .02
.I had a friend with an auto accord with a tach and shift light. He was an idiot though. He used it so he could do neutral drops and peel out right at redline. Not a good idea.
.hey yes it is possible, just have to tap into thte right wiring...
but i did it, and it helps out alot, you can tell what your enging is doing...
adds great look and functionality...
alot of haters, but i actually use it, just like my other guages...
but w/t out a shift light, that would be over the top...
check my car page for more....

there is no reason to have one, just like what was said before, certainly hope that u are not trying to manually shift your auto trans cause it will blow up. just having a tach on an auto trans is like having a boost gauge and no turbo IMO
.Yet for some reason Honda decided my MT didn't need a tach. I've yet to figure that one out. quot;Yeah, that sounds like about 7000 RPM...quot; |
